March 12, 2020
It is with the deepest regret that we must announce that the Coastal Plains Regional Tournament will not be held this Saturday. Woodstown-Pilesgrove School District, in consultation with medical professionals, have determined that, while there are no official guidelines from the CDC at this time, cancelling the event out of an abundance of caution would be the best for the students and school community.
The NJ State Board joins you in disappointment with this news, but we fully understand and support Woodstown and other schools that are making extremely difficult decisions on behalf of their students’ safety. We are committed to attempting to provide an avenue for our Coastal Plains teams to present their solutions to the best of our ability.
Coaches / Coordinators / Teams —
Please do not stop practicing or destroy your props or other materials, and please stay tuned for our next announcement. We’re anticipating having a plan in place by Monday, March 16th.
Judges / Volunteers —
Please do not show up to Woodstown High School or Shoemaker Elementary this weekend! We will not be there. We also do not anticipate you being needed for our alternative plan. We do, however, ask that you keep April 4th open as we still have not made a determination about State Finals at this time.
Everyone —
We politely request your patience during the next few days. We are an all-volunteer board and are attempting to meet all our obligations, including Odyssey! As such, we will be prioritizing responding to emails from coaches and coordinators and may not be able to respond as quickly as normal. Please be assured we will get information distributed to coaches, coordinators, and any needed volunteers and judges as soon as we can.
Thank you in advance for your help and consideration!
